What we keep, and why.
Ion Labs collects the minimum personal data needed to sell, ship, and verify analytical reference standards. This page describes what is collected, what it is used for, who it is shared with, and the rights you have over it.
What we collect.
Name, email address, and shipping address. Provided by you when you create an account or place an order.
The products, quantities, batch identifiers, and prices associated with each order, along with the researcher attestation submitted at checkout.
Payment is processed by an external payment processor. Ion Labs receives confirmation of payment, the amount, and the payment method category — never your wallet keys, exchange credentials, or card details.
Hashed password, password-reset tokens, and session identifiers used to authenticate you when you return to your account. Plaintext passwords are not stored or accessible to anyone at Ion Labs.
IP address, browser user-agent, and approximate location derived from IP for fraud and security monitoring. Server logs are retained for 30 days unless tied to a security investigation.
Emails you send to research@ionhealthlabs.com or coa@ionhealthlabs.com and our replies, retained as customer-service records.
How we use it.
Order fulfillment
Processing payment, generating shipping labels, releasing certificates of analysis bound to your lot identifiers, and delivering customer-service responses.
Account access
Authenticating you when you sign in, allowing you to look up past orders, download archived COAs, and manage subscriptions.
Legal records
Retaining the researcher attestation tied to each order, the order record itself, and tax-relevant transaction data for periods required by law.
Security
Detecting fraudulent ordering, abuse of the catalog, and breach of the researcher attestation. We do not use technical data for advertising or behavioral profiling.
Who we share with.
Ion Labs does not sell personal data. We share the minimum information necessary with the following service providers, each of which is contractually bound to use that data only to perform its service for us.
Order total, currency, and a transaction identifier. Wallet addresses and on-chain details are handled by the processor and not retained by us.
Name, shipping address, product SKUs, and weight required to print a carrier label and select a service.
Email address, message body, and delivery metadata for order confirmations, shipping updates, and COA notifications.
Sample material with anonymized lot identifier only. Purchaser-identifying information is not provided to analytical labs.
Encrypted database records and application logs as needed to operate the service. Processed under each provider's standard data-processing terms.
How long we keep data
Order records and the researcher attestation tied to them are retained for at least seven years to meet US tax and recordkeeping obligations. Account contact information is retained for the active life of the account plus seven years for the associated orders. Server logs roll off at 30 days. Email correspondence is kept for two years from last contact.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Order records and attestations cannot be deleted before their retention period ends because they are required to be kept by law, but other categories of data can be. Send requests to research@
